Researching Further

Researching further into packaging, social media, advertising and how to chose your glasses without being at the store. Researching before our group meeting.

Researching packing for glasses being sent out:

Having the glasses sit in some kind of secure placement within a box would look appealing and also be safe for the glasses' travel to and from the company and homes.

A shoe draw like set up could be interesting and save space for postage.
Another pop up glasses idea. Half the glasses could sit in the case and you pull them out. The lid could slip on top of them to ensure the glasses are fully secure during postage.

Pull out a set of glasses from the case. Extremely secure.

Social Media:
Facebook:
Mr Foureyes' social media accounts need a lot of work. They are too casual, not professional, we need know what the company does and their cause.

Pictures of the owners instead of the business' logo or products is a bad idea. Looks unprofessional and too casual. Plus we don't know what the page is about -visually showing what they do is what grabs audiences.
No photos of their products. We don't know what their company is about -only get a hint through their Facebook name. Photos of themselves doesn't look professional.
Posting on subjects that aren't to do with their company confuses the audience and is totally unrelated.

Their main idea is that the customer buys a pair of glasses and one pair gets donated to a child in need. This VERY important information is hidden under their "About" page. We need to make this information very clear to customers as it might be their persuading point to buying glasses from them. Having this information in their cover photo is perfect as everyone looks at the cover photo on Facebook.

Twitter:
Their Twitter account was hard to find because it isn't under the company's name, Its under one of the owner's names.
I found it through their current website (www.kiwioptical.co.nz).
  • Hard to find through google search
  • Named after one of the owners not the company
  • Their profile picture looks like they are well off and on holiday
  • Unprofessional and unrelated to the company -looks like a personal account
  • One out of four posts are about the company
They need a new Twitter account:
  • Twitter accound named after their company
  • Logo as their profile picture
  • Post only about the company
  • In their information blurb write about their cause -not just that they are the co-founder of Mr Foureyes

Advertising:
I was looking into advertising for Mr Foureyes. I think interactive and "out there" advertisements could be very attention grabbing and memorable. Something quirky relates to their company I think.

Choosing glasses while not being at the store:
Style and looks for glasses is really important to people looking for a new pair. Having guidelines of what could suit them would appeal to the customer. Setting up a guide on Mr Foureyes' website where you can upload your photo, figure out your face shape, and decide what styles suit you would be helpful to the future customers. The customer could have top five picks and then get them sent out to them in the post.
